Please ensure that you leave the facilities as you found them and use the saw-dust supplied.
Water on the site is metered and the cost to the society is a significant expense. As a result where plots are served by mains water, we do not allow the use of hose pipes or sprinklers to directly water the plot. (Troughs and water butts can be filled up using a hose pipe). If you have a shed, and don’t have a water butt, please do consider installing guttering and getting a water butt. Please note that the water supply is normally turned off during the winter months when there is normally enough rain to water plots and fill butts etc.
Please ensure that the paths around your plot are maintained and kept free of obstacles
Disposal of rubbish
Please remove any rubbish, plant material (that you are not composting) from the site
Strimmers & Rotovators
We have two strimmers and rotovators. These are provided at your own risk. Please ensure you read the safety instructions before using them. You will need to have been shown how to operate it before using them for the first time.
Please contact email@example.com if you want to borrow any of the tools.
Manure & Woodchips
We have regular deliveries of manure, wood chippings and more recently malted barley and hops. Please take them as required, but please note that this for the whole site and leave some for other plot holders. Deliveries of wood chippings are sometimes specifically for work days.
There are a number of these for shared use. Please return after use to the storage area next to the manure/woodchip area. Please don’t keep them on your plot.
Pizza oven and communal shelter
Towards the centre of the site, half way up the hill in the woods, there is a communal area which includes a wood fired pizza oven and a shelter.
A useful additional to compost is comfrey. There is a strip of shared comfrey growing to the left of the centre path up the hill. Please cut and add to your compost. As always with shared amenities please use with consideration towards other plot holders.
